The members of 4 Troops, three men and one woman, served on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. While overseas, music played a very important role in their lives.

A Ft. Lauderdale community is mourning the loss of a beloved volunteer and a cherished friend. Lorelei Pelaia, 91, was killed in a two-car collision Friday morning as she was turning into Holy Cross Hospital, where she had volunteered five days a week since 1960.

Memorial Day is an especially difficult one for a Deerfield Beach family dealing with a double loss. Army Combat engineer Daniel Lawson was killed serving in Afghanistan last October. Last week Lawson’s father, Methodist Minister Reverend Thomas Lawson died suddenly.
